Prime Acrylic and HPL panels get the ECNZ tick

Prime Melamine and Veneer have long held Environmental Choice NZ accreditation and now our High Pressure Laminate (HPL) pressed panels and Acrylic panels do too.

The expanded list of Prime Panel products with accreditation includes:

  • Prime Laminate (HPL) on MDF: 12mm to 30mm
  • Prime Acrylic on MDF: 16mm – 30mm
  • Prime Melamine on MDF: 6mm–30mm
  • Prime Melamine on Particle Board: 9mm–30mm
  • Prime Veneer on MDF: 9mm–30mm

Environmental Choice NZ is a globally recognised, Type 1 eco-label which is highly regarded by NZ architects and construction companies wanting to achieve a Homestar or Greenstar rating for their buildings.

Products carrying the ECNZ tick provides confidence that products are sustainably sourced, are low formaldehyde, do not contain harmful ingredients and are made with consideration for the environment in terms of energy and waste management.  Independent auditors appointed by Environmental Choice NZ annually assess product stewardship, any changes to product formulation or on-site activities including production methods and resource consents.

Advantages of the Pressed HPL Panel range
Along with the ECNZ tick, Prime’s Pressed HPL Panel range is a more affordable and less wasteful way of using laminate for cabinetry, wall panels, doors and furniture as the 2440 x 1220 sheets don't need to be cut down from larger benchtop sheets.

Six gorgeous Soft-Matt anti-fingerprint colours form part of this range which has more than 30 designs including woodgrains and marbles.

With new designs frequently added to the range, make sure you visit the colours page to see what's on offer or view some of our featured on our showcase page.

The best scratch resistant acrylic on the market
Prime Acrylic’s new ECNZ accreditation was no surprise given the high quality of the European-sourced acrylic film that is made by a company with both ISO 14001 and EMAS accreditation.  The company claims virtually waste-free production and has a wholescale commitment to sustainability within their operation.

Both high-gloss and matt acrylic colours produce a flawless finish without the imperfections or propensity to scratches and scuffing that occurs with paint.  And with the highest scratch resistance rating available, they’re a sustainable option as they keep their good looks for longer.
